MUSEUM MPU PURWA IN MALANG
Museum Mpu Purwa is one of the museums that stores artifacts from five kingdoms that have existed in the archipelago, ranging from the Kingdom of Kanjuruan, Ancient Mataram, Kediri, Singasari, to Majapahit. This museum is located at Jalan Soekarno Hatta No. 210, Mojolangu Sub-District, Lowokwaru District, Malang Regency. A total of 136 original collections are in this museum, including inscriptions, statues, temple buildings, prehistory, and anthropology.
The largest collection in the Museum Mpu Purwa is the legacy of the late Kingdom of Majapahit, while the other four kingdoms have only a few collections, such as makara, lingga yoni, prehistoric objects such as scratches and mortar stones, the statue of Siwa Mahaguru or Agastya, and the Dinoyo 2 inscription which is a the legacy of the Kingdom of Kanjuruan.
Relics from the Ancient Kingdom of Mataram are the Bulul Inscription and the Stambha Singa statue, while the Ganesha Mouse statue, the Manjusri Bodhisattva statue, the Garuda Wisnu fragment, and the Wisnu statue, are the legacy of the Kingdom of Kediri.
Other relics are Asobya Buddha, Brahma statue, Muncang, Ganesha, and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva from Kingdom of Singasari.
The Shiva Mahaguru statue from the Temple of Badut is the oldest and rarest collection here, said to be the rarest because its form is different from the Agastya statue in general. Like his weapon, Trident is stuck in a lotus flower, using a headband so that his hair is loose, his nape has a hole, his stomach is not bulging, and Agastya, who usually wears pants, uses cloth.
As for the latest collection, the Singa Stambha was evacuated from behind the residents' homes. In addition to the statue of Shiva Mahaguru, the Stambha Singa statue which has a year number is also considered a rare collection because it is rarely found. No exception to the statue of Ganesha Mouse from the Kingdom of Kediri, a rare collection that only exists in the Museum Mpu Purwa.
